The second day of the DIN 4000 meeting is over. Today, the biggest point of contention: “Should a field for the GTIN be included?” A comment by Boris Kaiser:
“DIN 4000 meeting – 2nd day…There is still work to be done on the new standard for complete tools (Part 180). Publication is planned for 2023.The biggest point of contention today: do we include a field for GTIN? CIMSOURCE thinks no! While we support the use of such a code, we would leave it up to the manufacturers which code to use. (GTIN is chargeable). It is much more important to define where and how the code is applied to the tool!Good news for the new standard for cutting data (part 103): at DIN, capacities are free again, we can now take the final steps!”
